The Senate version of S. 77 has been sent to the House Human Services Committee. To date, there has been no further movement on the Bill, but we expect the House Human Services Committee to begin deliberations on the Bill as early as April 2, 2013. Updates, action alerts and messaging will be sent to you when the House Committee opens the discussion. Please prepare for yet another public hearing. State House speculators predict that pro-suicide members of House will attempt to restore components of the Oregon-style, state sanctioned suicide legislation that the Senate replaced in the new S.77 – the Oregon-style legislation has been introduced in Vermont for several sessions now and has, thus far, failed to win passage.
